I Won a Giveaway

I won the most wonderful and generous giveaway I have ever entered. It was from Barbara over on her blog, To Stitch or Not to Stitch. As you can see below, I won Blackberry Lane Designs Goblins on Parade (c) 2010, a quilted Halloween fabric mat, a large scented candle from Reflections (Sugar Cookies - smells absolutely yummy), a jar filled with candy corn (but the most wonderful part was the stitchy piece on top of the jar), and a wonderful Halloween stitched ornament.

I so love the jar with the stitched owl on top. I love, love, love getting finished things and Barbara's finishes are EXCELLENT!

The Halloween Pumpkin ornament is so much more beautiful than this pitiful blurry picture shows. It's just wonderful!

Time Out for a Fun Day!!!

I took time off for a fun day yesterday. Got an email from Stitchy Kitty Group (Michelle Lutzen designer of Stitchy Kitty) that she would be on a stitch & chat at Stitcher's Village.

I decided to attend and what fun it was to 'stitch & chat'. Michelle was delightful and discussions were about everything to do with stitching and Stitchy Kitty.

The only thing remaining to stitch of the freebie "Woof Spoken Here" is the dog's head. (Freebie available on the Stitchy Kitty site). Here's the results: :D

I have been working on designs for the September Counted Wishes Festival. So far I have one finished and am working on the second.

Here's what I'm stitching on to date:

This piece I am working on to remember my sweet Wolfgang. He was 19 when he died and he was with me all of those years. I plan on just stitching the cat and his name, birth year and death:

Stitchy Update

I have been KNITTING feverisly trying to finish a onesie with a hood before my youngest has her baby on the 28th. Soooooooooo I haven't been doing much cross stitching and I miss it terribly! I did, however, design an ornament which I just couldn't resist and stitched up quickly. Here it is, although the picture doesn't do it justice. The red seed beads I added to the outer backstitching sparkle in the lights. It's so pretty. Thank you Iris for sending me the 2 colors of floss in your Christmas card which inspired this! :)

Well, the Blueladie Designs Newsletter went out today! Were you aware that each newsletter has a small design freebie? So there is a bit of fun along with the news.

It was snowing in Kentucky this morning and it was a lovely enjoyable sight. I played Christmas music and worked on designs at my computer while glancing now and then out the window. What a great way to spend time. I'm looking forward to the next Counted Wishes Festival February 1-7. :)

Been a While! :(

Well, it's been a while since I posted. DH had a heart attack last week and was just released from the hospital last Sunday. We are both still on edge, but he seems to be doing somewhat better after the procedures he had done.

As always, my stitching was a true gift for my sanity.

I finished Pumpkin Hollow Farm by Little House Needleworks 2 or 3 weeks ago. I didn't have access to my camera at that time. I just took these pictures last night.

I am currently working on all of my Little House Needleworks ornaments for my grandchildren. :) As always this designer's pieces are a pleasure to stitch! :)

It will be a while before I can finish them so I thought I'd post my progress. I have an ornament every year for each grandchild and will give the ornaments to them when they turn 18. Then they will have a start on decorations for their Christmas tress.

I'm currently working on #10 "Under the Tree". Just started that one so I guess I am really behind as that should have been finished in October. However, I am catching up! :)

There is a new blog that I want you all to see. (click the word 'blog'or link is: http://needleworkcopyright.blogspot.com/)

You are going to be hearing a lot about this blog and the writings that will be posted. This is serious so as a designer, I have to ask your help. Fighting copyright infringements takes a lot of man/woman power!

Go to the blog, read it and sign up to follow. Post it to your blogs, your Facebook pages and Twitter. Put it everywhere.

The statistics that will be posted will and should alarm every one of us as illegal uploading and downloading is increasing at a fevered pitch. It is so bad that it threatens the not-too-distant future of our industry.

Please show your support by signing on. And as honest stitchers who pay for your charts, you should be right on the front line with us designers.

I just found out that another designer has suffered theft --- yet again. I know in these days of economic challenge it's tempting just to 'share' charts, but that only hurts us all and most of all the original designer.

I know myself, being retired, money is tight. I depend on my very small sales to order stash that I want and could not otherwise have. Other designers depend on their craft to support their household finances.

Let us in a good Christian manner 'do unto others as we would want them to do to us.' Sharing is a good thing, but only if the item belongs to us. Sharing what another sells to make a living is hurtful.

Think about it.
