My Annual Favorite Poem/Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol
Words by Bishop Phillips Brooks
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas to-night!
Christmas in lands of the fir tree and pine,
Christmas in lands of the palm tree and vine;
Christmas where snow-peaks stand solemn and white,
Christmas where corn-fields lie sunny and bright;
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas to-night.
Christmas where children are hopeful and gay,
Christmas where old men are patient and gray,
Christmas where peace, like a dove in its flight,
Broods o'er brave men in the thick of the fight;
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas to-night.
For the Christ-child who comes is the Master of all,
No place too great and no cottage too small;
The Angels who welcome Him sing from the height,
"In the city of David, a King in His might."
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas to-night.
Then let every heart keep its Christmas within
Christ's pity for sorrow, Christ's hatred for sin.
Christ's care for the weakest, Christ's courage for right,
Christ's dread of the darkness, Christ's love of the light.
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas to-night.
So the stars of the midnight which compass us round
Shall see a strange glory, and hear a sweet sound,
And cry, "Look! the earth is aflame with delight,
O sons of the morning, rejoice at the sight."
Everywhere, everywhere, Christmas to-night.
Thanks for stopping by,
Merry Christmas and God Bless!

Stitching Update
Hi all,
this has been a time of highs and lows for me stitching wise. I've finished 3 months of Raise the Roof Design's "Crabby All Year" (July, August and September respectively).
July
August
September
These are the highs. They are relatively easy and I can't believe this SAL is almost finished. Only three more months to go.
Now for the lows. I eagerly awaited and started Little House Needleworks "Around the World in 80 Days". There were a few errors I picked up on this chart on the website and noted them. I stitched and got so far - (see picture)

The grassy area on the right underneath the right house is supposed to be a light green (per the chart picture). It calls for Crescent Colors "Desert Mesquite" and that just did not turn out a light green. Believe me if the stitched piece looked like the picture, I wouldn't frog as I have decided to do. However, the stitched piece it's hard to see the flowers and the people so frogging agony here I come. I'll have to try to find some light green that would closely match the picture. I am so disappointed. :(
Thanks for stopping by and bearing with me as I whine.

IHSW update (shamed facedly)
Around the World in 80 Days
Little House Needleworks (c) 2012
18 ct Mocha
Crescent Colors, WDW & DMC threads
Well, here is my update from a not-so-hermit-ting weekend (last weekend or the one before that btw). Sigh... it would appear hermit-ting is not going to work for me. Despite best laid plans, I did not get to stitch the way I had planned.
Even since that weekend, my darling grandson made a request that I make him a WARM afghan. I cannot refuse him when he asks, so I pulled this out and am working on it every other day. My hands hurt to do it so I give myself a day of stitching to rest.

Bernat free chart on yarn label. (Which by the way I have misplaced) - batting a thousand aren't I! I can however, keep going because this is a simple pattern and doesn't take much to figure it out if I forget. :)
Sigh, so my "rotation" is now on the back burner as I go back and forth between these two.
Thanks for any sympathy ;) you can pass my way and...

USA Celebrate the 4th
This is a much better picture of my piece. I wanted to stitch something for USA's Fourth of July celebration. I found in my freebie collection this chart by La-D-Da. No date was on it. As in the previous post the information is the same. Tan 14 ct fabric and GAST threads. I revised the chart for my use. I changed: The date, 'Flag City' to 'God Bless' and 'USA' to 'the USA. I also added my initials to the bottom border. I loved doing this. I particularly enjoy stitching pieces that fit with the current season and/or holiday.
I hope you all are staying safe and cool.

Blueladie Designs Newsletter & an Apology & a stitchy Pic
Hi all. The Blueladie Designs Newsletter just went out. Unfortunately, there was some sort of a glitch. I am told that you either received it twice or not at all. I am so sorry for this and hope you will forgive. Of course please notify me if you didn't receive it and I will send one out to you as soon as I can. :)
On the stitching front, I wanted to stitch something patriotic for July and I found this freebie by La-D-Da entitled "Flag City". I adjusted the wording and the threads (I used GAST that I had on hand). It turned out nicer than the picture.

Stitching Update
I Just had to have this "Four Corners" by Little House Needleworks (c) 2012
This is part 1 "The Weathervane". I'm stitching it on 18 ct Mocha with the Crescent Colors thread included with the thread pack. I love it!!! It looks so much prettier than the picture. Thank you Diane for this wonderful design. I am so looking forward to stitching part 2 & 3. :D
Also finished is the 4th motif from "Crabby All Year" by Raise The Roof (c) 2007.
Teal blue 18 ct fabric and DMC threads.
Poor SAL Surprise from Il blog di Sara (c) 2012 is taking a back burner, but I intend to finish it because I like it. 18 ct white fabric with DMC threads.
I've also gone back to the SAL from Les grilles de Maryse (c) 2011. 18 ct white fabric with DMC threads. I particularly enjoy this one too.
I am working on "Rose Plantation" from Little House Needleworks (c) 2009. I am, however, doing some color changes and chart changes because I'm changing it to Linden Plantation Est 1827 for my DH's family home in Mississippi. :) 28ct evenweave white fabric and HDF silk threads.
My other charts you've heard me mention but not pictured here:
1. Lizzie Kate's Christmas Rules: waiting to be stitched up and bell pulls added for completion.
2. Memorial piece for my dear Wolfgang (cat) is still with my rotation pieces, just on the 'back burner' for now.
3. My Big Toe's Serenity is still there but also on the 'back burner'.
4. Carriage House Samplings Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow - the first motif is there. I've put a few more stitches in it, but it's not worth showing just yet.
Sigh... and that is it for me, for now.
Happy Thursday y'all from Kentucky!

I Won an Award
Thanks to Sue of Sue's Stitching I have won the Liebster Blog award.
There are conditions attached to this award, so here is the text I copied from Sue's blog.
Liebster is a German word meaning favourite, dearest or beloved.
The Liebster Blog Award is awarded by bloggers to other new bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to help spread the word about their blogs and to help them gain wider recognition.
The Liebster award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:
1. Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.
2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blog so they know about the award.
4. Share 5 random facts about yourself that people don't know about you.
Blogs I have chosen, this was so hard as I visit so many everyday. I love looking at everyone's beautiful stitching.
