Sad to Say

I just found out that another designer has suffered theft --- yet again. I know in these days of economic challenge it's tempting just to 'share' charts, but that only hurts us all and most of all the original designer.

I know myself, being retired, money is tight. I depend on my very small sales to order stash that I want and could not otherwise have. Other designers depend on their craft to support their household finances.

Let us in a good Christian manner 'do unto others as we would want them to do to us.' Sharing is a good thing, but only if the item belongs to us. Sharing what another sells to make a living is hurtful.

Think about it.

thanks for stopping by -- and --
God Bless You for supporting our needlework craft!

love,
Cathryn

I'm just starting to design and hope to have a website running soon. I'm so afraid of this. I have put many freebies on my blog but copyrighted. Hopefully..I won't see anyone selling them. But this world is full of crazies. What is the best way to protect from this?

Dear Cathryn,

This is one of the main reasons why I am hesitating designing even part time. I have about 5-6 designs charted out (on pen and paper!) and another 3-4 'in the pipe' so to speak, but with theft being so rampant, I do not know if I have the stomach to deal with it all.

I'm still waffling over it! :/
