Happy Blogaversary to me!

Well, well, well. It's been a year and a good one as far as my blog goes! In celebration if you leave a comment, you will be entered into a contest for your choice of a Blueladie Designs chart (except for those on the homepage or page 1). Thanks for following me this year. I appreciate and thank each and every one of you. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the winner, as I am not asking for emails as some people do not want to share those. :)

Don't forget to find me in the Counted Wishes Show on February 1st. See the link upper right hand corner.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

When DH brought in the mail today, I opened this mid size brown envelope from Pam B. with a puzzled look on my face and out came the most beautiful ornament and scissors fob. It took my breath away. I REALLY loved it! You are so sweet to do this and I can see what a wonderful seamstress you are! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I LOVE surprises and this certainly was a wonderful one!

Iris also surprised me. I heard her saying she was crocheting potholders and dishcloths and I was waiting to see a pic (as I am such a visual person). Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be one of the LUCKY recipients of such a thoughtful gift!!! :D

Thank you for stopping by and sharing my Christmas surprises!

God Bless

TGIF!!!
I have been so lazy, tired lately. Haven't been blogging regularly. Sigh...
Anyway.....

Here's my latest NEW design.

I've finally finished my PS, but - shame on me! - I haven't taken a pic yet.

It's been almost a year since I've retired and I'm just having a rough time this winter with everything holiday. I want to do so much but I am just physically and financially unable. Pffffffffffffttttttttt! LOL I do play my Christmas music, though. I LOVE that. Listen! I'm trying, really I am.

If you got this far, leave a comment and I'll send you a PDF of my new design, free (expires 12-31-09).
:) Please be sure to leave your email.

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless you and yours!
Merry Christmas!!!
love and hugs,
Cathryn

Well, I can't believe it, but it's true (so far so good). I will be one of the designers Blueladie Designs in the Needleshow, November 5-9.... :-o ! This may be an opportunity for me or a mistake. Only time will tell. Since it's a trial run show... it's free and I couldn't pass up the publicity at that price. Hope you will all wish me well or ask God to bless me with whatever is the best for me (I think that it's safer to put it in His hands... LOL).

WOW! It's August! Can you believe it? Seems like only yesterday that it was January. :-o

I have finished July's SanMan Originals SAL:

I just love this design of Sandy's. It turned out so pretty. I am also working on a chart I designed for my daughter (youngest). It WAS one of her most favorite sayings. She'll get a chuckle out of it. (I'm in my Own World - See below in another post).

Well, sorry to be short, but I have nothing else right now and I did want to post this before the next one starts. Have a good Saturday!

July 20, 2009 Monday Edited (7/21)

Happy Monday All!

This is a picture of my 'new' furbaby. He is a puppy out of the litter that my Morgan (RIP) picture posted previously, had. He is so sweet and gentle. :D

His name is 'Stache'... short for Mustache, because he has a little white line on his chin (also long horizontally on his chest).
I hope you are all having a good day.

July 8, 2009 - Wednesday

Hi all,
I found an old chart I created from one of my daughter's T-shirts that she loved. I finished it and am going to try to stitch it for her... I'm sure it will get a hoot of appreciation ... here is a pic:

This one makes me smile just looking at it.

I've really been busily designing lately. The 12 days of Christmas ornaments are being released on my Blueladie Designs website. I'm also working on next year's charts and a Mystery Sampler as well. I am excited about all of them.

I just recently finished my Merry Month of May SAL by San Man Originals. :)

It's a stormy, rainy couple of days here in Kentucky. I haven't been feeling well for the past few days and finally figured out that it's my allergies. I just have to lay down when that happens and I am so very glad to be retired so I can do that when I want to.

Life is so fragile. A friend of ours was killed by a semi crossing the yellow line and hit him head on (the driver was drunk). He was on his way home from work to his wife and two children. Hug those close to you.

May 22, 2009

It is 3:18 a.m. I have been working on and completed designing two Christmas ornaments for the 2009 season for my group Kentucky Kross Stitchers. I am borrowing from another group whose designer I greatly admire (borrowing from her fun things to do, not her designs!) and am going to try to do 12 days of Christmas with an orny for each day. What do you think? I hope it will be fun.

I've been stitching today on my Prairie Schooler Christmas Village and it must have put me in the Christmas mood. That and receiving the latest issue of "Just Cross Stitch". I get so excited so easily :D
I'm such a child!!!

April 14, 2009

I keep waiting until I have a pic to post on what I am stitching, but that is just silly. I am working on Little House Needleworks "Home of a Needleworker (too)" I really fell in love with it when I saw other stitchers in the LHN/CCN group post their pictures. I so love cross stitching that I wanted this piece for myself haning on my wall. Designing cross stitch and stitching it brings such pleasure, peace and joy to my life. :)

I am missing so many people in my life. People who are members of my group (KYKS) and my daughters and my mother all of my family. Sometimes I feel so alone. I don't know what I would do if I lost my DH. He was in an accident yesterday. Someone rear-ended him and he is in such pain (from whiplash I would imagine). He slept so poorly last night (it kept us both awake).

I don't even know what to say about life anymore. I have no eloquent words of prayer. I go to God and just say "help." I don't know what else to say. Just help. That and my faith and trust in God lets me believe that he knows what I mean even when I don't.

I love people. I care so deeply about even strangers troubles that they share. It just plain hurts. That's when it came to me that I can be a child and just go to my God, hold out my hand and say... "help".

Thanks for stopping by... God Bless you richly.
love, Cathryn

April 5, 2009

It's Sunday night. I've been stitching on the next SanMan Originals Christmas SAL on an afghan. It is going really quickly so I haven't stitched on it today. We did our shopping today instead of yesterday (groceries) because it was so nice out. We spent most of the day outside. Today there are storm warnings and watches. From one extreme to another. Tomorrow... we are supposed to be really cold and a chance of SNOW! I think mother nature needs professional help!!! Can anyone suggest a good therapist??? LOL

The rainy weather is killing both DH and I! Arthritis is painful when it's wet, cold, and damp!! But we get along with lots of aspirin and sympathy, me for him and him for me! I must admit though, due to the pain we kinda snap at each other. It's a good thing we love each other so much. ;)

Well, Wolfgang is getting nervous and went under the bed. Must be thunder and another storm rolling through so I'd better get off here. Back to Stitching! YES!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

March 26, 2009

Hi all,

Still feeling woozy, but not sure why.

I've been plugging away at my PS Christmas Village since my SanMan March SAL is completed.

It is really pleasing to work on. It's going to take quite a bit of DMC 520. I've ordered some, but they have it on Backorder... so I'll stitch other things until I receive it.

It's been raining here for the past 2 days and both Otey and I are feeling it "in our bones." Owie! LOL. The soft hills are turning greener with Mother Nature's watering and I am reminded of why I love it so much here. Seeing all the farms, cows and horses. It's peace and contentment.

My mom is progressing. They say she'll be out of the nursing home in 3 weeks, but it will take her 6 months before she will be able to walk without assistance (walker or cane). When she goes home, my sister in Florida is going to stay with her for a week. I'm glad she will be able to because I sure can't. I just can't do all the things I used to for myself, let alone take care of someone else. That makes me sad.

Well, that's it for now. Thank you for stopping by.

love, hugs and prayers,
Cathryn

March 19, 2009

Well, I finished this month's SanMan SAL.

I decided to leave it just as it is even though it is off center a little.

I talked to my step-mother this morning a little. They are sending her to a nursing home for a few weeks to get her up and walking with a walker and such before they send her home. I guess they decided it would be for the best. I'm kind of glad cause I know that Dad would expect too much of her. This way she can get a head start with healing and resting and people waiting on her. She sounded in really good spirits, but then she always is even if she's down so you really can't tell. That's just her.

Well, I'm off to fix iced tea for DH do a few things then work on some other cross stitching probably my Prairie Schooler Christmas Village because I haven't been able to work on that for a while.

Take care of yourself, Cathryn.
